An eponymous adornment on Ljubljana's Dragon Bridge. Looking down from Ljubljana Castle to one of the capitals's many squares. Less than two hours from Ljubljana is Bled, the lake and village of which are guarded over by its castle. The long climb up to the castle is rewarded by a view over Lake Bled.

Lake Bled is famous for its island monastery, a short gondola ride from the village. Exploring the island. The Postojna cave system is one of the largest in the world, consisting of over twenty kilometers of passageways decorated with stalactites and stalagmites.

Near inpregnable Predjama castle, complete with drawbridge, dungeon, and a secret escape passage. The main square of Piran, a wonderfully preserved medieval Venetian port. View of the main square from the Cathedral of St. George bell tower. From atop the ancient city walls, all of Piran lies below; its red tile rooftops contrasted with the beautiful blue waters of the Adriatic.

Enjoying five star dining at Strelec on our final night in Slovenia.
