We visited the San Francisco Orchid Show held at Fort Mason. There were lots of beautiful flowers... ... including some Triffid look-alikes.

It was a beautiful sunny day, and Alcatraz was clearly visible from Fort Mason.

For Timothy's birthday we had an afternoon tea at home. The candles show his age - in binary - yes he defintely is a nerd. Shefali and Bikram at the tea party - aren't they sweet.

April (don't forget to check out our Australia trip.)

Individual women's foil finalists at the Pacific Coast Championships; Margaret came 7th. Women's team foil gold medal at the Pacific Coast Championships; Margaret's team came 1st. Del and Vicky at the De Young.

Jim and Marge Stack visited us at the end of their three month trip around North America. Muir Woods is always a favourite with visitors. And it's not just the trees to be seen at Muir Woods. The Golden Gate Bridge is another popular destination with visitors to the city.

Later that same afternoon we visited the Painted Ladies (a row of Victorian town houses), here shown with the city in the background. Our last stop that day was a drive down Lombard street, advertised as the most crooked street in the world. That's Coit tower in the background. Tim at work on Hawaiian shirt day.

For Halloween we visited Margaret's work friend Kathryn in Alameda. Every year Kathryn's street decks out with Halloween decorations. Children and their parents come from far and wide to 'trick or treat'.

A few older children too! Scooby?

Throughout the evening there was a steady stream of trick-or-treaters at Kathryn's door.

Margaret taking her turn giving out chocolate. One of Kathryn's guests with a trick-or-treater. Arrrgh maties.

1460 Immigrants became US citizens that day. From the balcony, Margaret was almost lost in a sea of faces from 93 different nations. ROTC cadets brought in the colours. Margaret with her new flag.

Later that month, Margaret's cousin Helen visited San Francisco with her family. The Wilson clan at the Golden Gate bridge. Kelly and Michael watching the sea lions far below the bridge. Looking up at one of the towers of the Golden Gate bridge.
